Role-based access control (RBAC)
Every organization has access to the Buoyant portal. Organizations with Buoyant Cloud also use the same user list and roles there. Each user gets one role, and that role applies in both the Buoyant portal and Buoyant Cloud.
Users are assigned one of three roles:
- Viewer: Can view the users page. In Buoyant Cloud, a Viewer has read-only access, but can also comment on events.
- Editor: Has all Viewer permissions. In Buoyant Cloud, an Editor can also manage events, alerts, and notifications, and can add and edit clusters.
- Administrator: Has all Editor permissions, and can also invite users, edit user roles, and remove users. In Buoyant Cloud, an Administrator can also delete clusters.
