FIPS-validated encryption

FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) is a standard created by the US federal government defines a range of cybersecurity requirements for sensitive data.

Buoyant Enterprise for Linkerd provides a build of Linkerd that uses FIPS-validated cryptographic modules for all encryption, allowing it to meet FIPS-140-2 and FIPS-140-3 standards.

These FIPS-validated builds of Linkerd cover both Linkerd’s control plane and its data plane, and allow your application to have FIPS validated encryption without changing its code.
